Previously a single-story industrial building used to make machine gears for heavy equipment, this project added a second level, elevator, outdoor terrace, skylights and enough windows to fill the building with an abundance of natural light. While it may look like one cohesive building now, this creative office space is comprised of four separate buildings built in four different time periods between the 1920’s and 1970’s, each with slightly different construction methods and materials. One of the biggest challenges that our team faced was pulling these buildings together, not only from an aesthetic standpoint, but also from structural and seismic standpoint.  Urban Resources served as the owner’s representative during the construction phase of this project.
