In preparation for construction of the AC Hotel by Marriott on Block D of the Port of Vancouver’s Terminal 1 property, the site had to undergo a soil stabilization project due to the high risk of liquefaction.

Urban Resources, Inc. (URI), acting as the owner’s representative for T1 Hotel LLC, coordinated with the Port of Vancouver to prepare and issue a public RFQ / RFP for a design-build contractor to perform a soil stabilization project along the Columbia River.

The scope of this project included engineering, grading, removal of existing timber piles from the site, Deep Soil Mixing (DSM), and Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) piles.
