AC Hotel Soil Stabilization

Summary:

In preparation for the construction of the AC Hotel by Marriott on Block D of the Port of Vancouver's Terminal 1 property, a soil stabilization project was required due to the high risk of liquefaction in the area. Urban Resources, Inc. (URI), serving as the owner's representative for T1 Hotel LLC, coordinated with the Port of Vancouver to prepare and issue a public RFQ/RFP for a design-build contractor to carry out the stabilization work along the Columbia River. The project scope included engineering, grading, removal of existing timber piles, and the installation of Deep Soil Mixing (DSM) and Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) piles to improve site stability.
